Matt Stone and Trey Parker have released a Broadway musical they have titled “The Book of Mormon.”  The official response by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Broadway’s Book of Mormon musical reads as follows:

The production may attempt to entertain audiences for an evening, but the Book of Mormon as a volume of scripture will change people’s lives forever by bringing them closer to Christ.

That is certainly brief and to the point. I think it’s a brilliant response and says all that really needs to be said.  You can find the statement posted here.
