Now Abinadi said unto him:

I say unto you,

I will not recall the words

which I have spoken unto you concerning this people,

for they are true;

and that ye may know of their surety

I have suffered myself that I have fallen into your hands.

Mosiah 20:17

Now when Gideon had heard these things,

he being the king's captain,

he went forth and said unto the king:

I pray thee forbear, and do not search this people,

and lay not this thing to their charge.
