For Amulon knew Alma,

that he had been one of the king's priests,

for he was subject to king Laman,

yet he exercised authority over them,

and put tasks upon them, and put task–masters over them.

that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.

they were filled with pain and anguish for the welfare of their souls.

Mosiah 25:12

And it came to pass that

those who were the children of Amulon and his brethren,

who had taken to wife the daughters of the Lamanites,

were displeased with the conduct of their fathers,

therefore they took upon themselves the name of Nephi,

that they might be called the children of Nephi

and be numbered among those who were called Nephites.

but those who were descendants of Nephi.

building large cities and villages in all quarters of the land.

Mosiah 27:31

Yea, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess before him.

Yea, even at the last day, when all men shall stand to be judged of him,

then shall they confess that he is God;

then shall they confess, who live without God in the world,

that the judgment of an everlasting punishment is just upon them;

and they shall quake, and tremble, and shrink

beneath the glance of his all–searching eye.
