Now, these are the words which he said unto the people concerning the matter:

I thank my God, my beloved people,

that our great God has in goodness sent these our brethren, the Nephites, unto us

to preach unto us, and to convince us of the traditions of our wicked fathers.

Alma 26:17

Who could have supposed that our God would have been so merciful

as to have snatched us from our awful, sinful, and polluted state?

Alma 26:30

And we have suffered all manner of afflictions,

and all this, that perhaps we might be the means of saving some soul;

and we supposed that our joy would be full

if perhaps we could be the means of saving some.
