Because I do not teach the foolish traditions of your fathers,

and because I do not teach this people to bind themselves down

under the foolish ordinances and performances

which are laid down by ancient priests,

to usurp power and authority over them,

to keep them in ignorance,

that they may not lift up their heads,

but be brought down according to thy words.

Alma 33:10

Yea, and thou hast also heard me

when I have been cast out and have been despised by mine enemies;

yea, thou didst hear my cries, and wast angry with mine enemies,

and thou didst visit them in thine anger with speedy destruction.

Alma 34:16

And thus mercy can satisfy the demands of justice,

and encircles them in the arms of safety,

while he that exercises no faith unto repentance

is exposed to the whole law of the demands of justice;

therefore only unto him that has faith unto repentance

is brought about the great and eternal plan of redemption.
