Behold, I perceive that this very people, the Nephites,

according to the spirit of revelation which is in me,

in four hundred years from the time

that Jesus Christ shall manifest himself unto them,

shall dwindle in unbelief.

Alma 45:13

And when that great day cometh,

behold, the time very soon cometh

that those who are now,

or the seed of those who are now numbered among the people of Nephi,

shall no more be numbered among the people of Nephi.

yea, they supposed that they should be privileged

to come upon them as they had hitherto done;

yea, and they had also prepared themselves with shields, and with breastplates;

and they had also prepared themselves with garments of skins,

yea, very thick garments to cover their nakedness.

Alma 49:24

There were about fifty who were wounded,

who had been exposed to the arrows of the Lamanites through the pass,

but they were shielded by their shields, and their breastplates, and their head-plates,

insomuch that their wounds were upon their legs,

many of which were very severe.
